Expressions of Resilience - Exhibition Opening

Join us for a special evening celebrating the emerging creative talents of East London at the Expressions of Resilience exhibition, hosted at BUILDHOLLYWOOD’s event space ‘1 Quaker Street’ in Shoreditch

This unique collaboration between Beyond the Box and BUILDHOLLYWOOD highlights the work of young architects, designers, and artists, aged 16 to 25, from Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

The design competition, Expressions of Resilience: Unifying Communities, Making Space for Creativity, challenged participants to reimagine the venue using sustainable materials, drawing inspiration from the cultural heritage and resilience that define East London. Come and experience how these talented creatives have transformed the space with their bold and innovative designs.

Winning Designers:

• Lily Nguyen & Akif Rahman for their design concept, Unbreakable Voices, which guides visitors through three distinct spaces—The Tearoom, The Camp, and The Kitchen.

• Taja Dennis for her reimagining of The Carwash and The Platform, fostering a creative space for East London’s youth to engage in artistic expression.

This event will celebrate and honour the creativity and resilience of East London’s next generation of architects, artists, and cultural producers.
