Creative Workshops for the Southbank Centre’s “Dance Your Way Home” Installation

Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX (Sunley Pavilion, level 3 blue side Royal festival Hall).
Beyond the Box CIC and QSP Studio invite local dancers, musicians, and spoken word artists (ages 14+) to take part in two creative workshops that will help shape a collaborative installation this summer at the Southbank Centre, as part of the powerful Dance Your Way Home season.
We’re not just designing a dance floor. We’re creating a space of presence, movement, and connection – and we want your voice in it.
Through dance, music, and word, these workshops will explore Dance as Resistance, capturing sound, rhythm, stories, and lived experience to inspire the textures, forms, and features of the final design.
Participants will contribute to:
Visual motifs inspired by cultural heritage and dance styles
Lyrics, poetry, and spoken word etched into the design
Movement and sound captured through film and photography
Colour palettes, materials, and spatial elements shaped by your expressions
Whether you're a seasoned performer or an emerging creative – if you express yourself through sound, rhythm, or language, we want to hear from you.
